Bird Eye View


Birds Eye View

Put these words into a sentence:
  • building: I am building a new house.
  • View: A view is something picturesque to the Eye.
  • Shed: Shed is a thing that you put some work stuff.
  • Garage: A garage is a place you park your car.
  • Fence: A fence is used to mark a property.
  • Truck: A truck is used to carry heavy loads.

Who are the characters in the story?
It was Luke and dad

What was the problem in the story?
Luke saw a little girl running down the road,
towards the building site.

How was the problem solved?
Luke showed the parents where the little girl was.

The Chocolate Cake


THE CHOCOLATE CAKE

Who are the Characters in the text?
Nathan, Tess, Mum, and Dad.

Describe these characters in detail.
TESS:
Tess has brown hair and her hair is in a plait. Tess is 12 years old and she is tall. I think Tess likes to cook in the kitchen. She work well with her younger brother Nathan.
NATHAN:
Nathan is 10 years old and has short brown/red hair. He is a good helper to his sister Tess and he think positively when there is a problem.   

What was the problem in the story?
The cake broke up when they got it out of the oven because they forgot to put cooking paper in the tin.

What idea did Tess and Nathan come up with?
Nathan decided to break the cake into 4 pudding bowls. They added ice-cream, custard and banana to make it even more yummier.

Using the information in the story write simple steps on how to bake a cake.
HOW  TO BAKE A CAKE

Ingredients:
Butter, Eggs, Water, Cake, Mix, Bowls, Tin, Wooden Spoon, Cooking Paper.

METHOD:
1. Pour the cake mix into the bowl.
2. Break the eggs into the mix.
3. Stir it all together
4. Pour the mix into the tin.
5. Put in the hot oven for 1/2 hour.

My Reading goals


These are my Reading Goals for Term 2.

When we are stuck on a word we are going to:
- sound the word out slowly.
- re read the sentence.
- use the chunk / check / cheer strategy.

Comprehension:
- summarise the story in order.
- visualise the story in our head.
- paint a picture about what is happening in the story.

 This Week Room 7 has been learning about which Ice-cube will melt first and I estimated Cordial.
